NEET Domicile Criteria

In order to be considered eligible for the State quota in West Bengal for MBBS/BDS admissions via NEET, applicants or their parent/s must establish domicile in the State of West Bengal. To fulfill this requirement, aspirants are expected to download the domicile certificate proforma from the Counselling website, wbmcc.nic.in, and complete the relevant proforma based on the following options:

Proforma a1: Residential/Domicile Certificate for candidates who have continuously resided in the State of West Bengal for at least 10 years.

Proforma a2: Residential/Domicile Certificate for candidates who have continuously resided in the State of West Bengal for at least 10 years and have also completed their 10+2 examination in West Bengal.

Proforma b: Residential/Domicile Certificate for candidates who have not continuously resided in the State of West Bengal for at least 10 years, but whose parent/s are permanent residents of West Bengal and have their permanent home address in West Bengal, with a continuous residence in West Bengal for at least 10 years.

Domicile Certificates obtained from the West Bengal e-district portal are also considered as valid proof of domicile.

If Proforma b or an e-district domicile certificate of the parent/s is submitted, it is mandatory to present any two of the following original ID proofs (Voter ID/Aadhaar Card/Passport) during the document verification process, with the ID cards indicating the residential address of the concerned person/s in West Bengal.

The domicile certificate must be signed only by the Authorities specified on the website www.wbhealth.gov.in.

NEET 2024 State-Wise Admission Procedure

Candidates who wish to secure admission in their respective states through NEET 2024 scores must complete the application form provided by the respective state counseling authorities. When completing these application forms, aspirants are required to furnish their personal, academic, contact, NEET result, and other requested details.

Based on the NEET rank information, the authority compiles a merit list that includes state merit ranks. Candidates included in the merit list will be invited to participate in the counseling process. During the counseling process, applicants must indicate their preferences for the colleges in which they wish to seek admission. Admission to state MBBS/BDS programs for the year 2024 will be granted based on these preferences, the availability of seats, NEET rank, reservation criteria, and other relevant factors.
